The Pittsfield community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Joel Noble, a 17-year-old student and athlete at Pikeland Community Unit School District 10, who tragically died in a car accident Saturday afternoon.

Joel, a beloved junior at Pikeland and a proud Saukee wrestler, was one of two high school students killed in a devastating two-vehicle crash around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67 and Woodson Winchester Road in rural Morgan County, just west of Woodson. Senior Jesse Davidsmeyer, a varsity football player, also lost his life in the collision.

Fox confirmed that grief counseling and additional mental health support will be made available for students, staff, and community members in the days to come. He urged families to be open with their children and seek support if needed.
