The Pittsfield community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Joel Noble, a 17-year-old student and athlete at Pikeland Community Unit School District 10, who tragically died in a car accident Saturday afternoon.
Joel, a beloved junior at Pikeland and a proud Saukee wrestler, was one of two high school students killed in a devastating two-vehicle crash around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67 and Woodson Winchester Road in rural Morgan County, just west of Woodson. Senior Jesse Davidsmeyer, a varsity football player, also lost his life in the collision.
Known for his kind heart and energetic spirit, Joel Noble was deeply connected to his school and hometown of Pittsfield, Illinois. He was admired for his commitment to wrestling, his friendships, and his infectious enthusiasm that brought joy to those around him.
